Victor James Osimhen is a young Nigerian football striker who plays for the Nigerian Super eagles and Italian club side Lille, he was born in Lagos State(South Western Region Of Nigeria) on 29th December, 1998.

Out of six children, Victor is the last child of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Osimhen.

International career

Victor Osimhen was among the Nigerian team that won the Fifa U-17 world cup in Chile in the year 2015, Osimhen was the Golden Boot and Silver Ball Award winner of the tournament. His great performance in the 2015 Fifa U-17 world tournament also earned him the crown of CAF Youth Player of the year award in the year 2015.

On 1st June, 2017, Osimhen made his senior team debut for Nigeria in a 3-0 win friendly against Togo. Osimhen was out from the list of players that represented Nigeria in the 2018 world cup.

In November 2018, he was called back by Gernot Rohr during an international break for a friendly match against The cranes of Uganda. In march 2019, his name was included in the list of players to represent the super eagles of Nigeria in a returning match against Libya as they were already two goals down from the first leg, the returning match was played in Asaba(Delta State), Osimhen scored three goals.

Osimhen was listed in the 25-man provisional list of Gernot Rohr to represent Nigeria in the 2019 African Cup Of Nation(AFCON) in Egypt and he was also listed in the final list of the tournament. The super eagles won the bronze medal of the tournament, Osimhen replaced injured Odion Ighalo at half time, in a 1-0 win game against Tunisia(Third place match).

Victor Osimhen have been invited by coach Gernot Rohr for a friendly match against Ukraine, the match will be played in Dnipro Arena, Ukraine on 10th September, 2019.

Club career

Victor Osimhen started his career with Ultimate Strikers Academy in January 2016. after a successful outing at the 2015 FIFA U-17 world cup, Osimhen signed a pre-contract with VfL Wolfsburg, stating that he will join them in January 2017.

He officially signed a three and half year contract with VfL Wolfsburg on 5th January, 2017. He made his debut for the German club side “VfL Wolfsburg” in a 1-1 draw game against Borussia Mönchengladbach, he came in as a substitute in the 59th minute of the game. The following week, Victor Osimhen replaced defender Sebastian Jung in a pivotal relegation match against Hamburger SV with the score tied 1-1, Hambuger SV net a late winner goal and the match ended 1:2 in favour of Hambuger SV, Wolfsburg was sent to a relegation playoff against Eintracht Braunschweig.

Osimhen earned his full Bundesliga debut in a 1-0 win match against Hannover on 28th January, 2018, he played the full 90 minutes.

On 11th February, he was also featured for 90 minutes in a match against Werder Bremen. On 31st March, he was replaced by Daniel Didavi at the half in a match against Hertha Berlin.

On 2nd may, Osimhen undergo shoulder surgery, ending his season in Bundesliga with 12 appearance.

Osimhen joined “Charleroi” a belgian club on 22nd August, 2018 on a long season loan deal, on 1st September, he made his debut against Excel Mouscron, he substituted Jérémy Perbet in the late minutes of the game. On 22nd September, he made his full debut against Waasland-Beveren, scoring his first professional goal with a backheel. He scored two goals in the last five minutes in a 3–2 win match against Zulte Waregem on 21 October, he scored a goal in a 4-2 win tie against Lokeren on 25th November.

It was a successful stay for him at Charleroi, he played a total of 36 games and scored 20 goals. Charleroi activated their plan on acquiring him due to his satisfactory performances while on loan.

Osimhen signed for the French club side “Lille” in July 2019.

He made his debut for Lille on 11th August, 2019, scoring a goal in a 2-1 win game against Nantes.
